Editorial Reviews:

With eight amazing colors, a new curved design, and great new features, iPod nano rocks like never before. The Genius Playlist feature finds the songs in your music library that go great together and makes a playlist for you. With its built-in accelerometer, iPod nano is made to move. Give it a shake, and it shuffles to a different song in your library. Turn it on its side to flip through your album art in Cover Flow. And tilt, move, and play accelerometer-inspired games (games available separately). Watching movies, TV shows, and video is even more fun on the sharp 2-inch screen. And your photos (up to 14,000 of them) look great in portrait or landscape view. Available in 8 GB and 16 GB models, the 16 GB iPod nano puts up to 4,000 songs or 16 hours of video in your pocket.

A Musical Genius
Say you're listening to a song you really like and want to hear other tracks that go great with it. The Genius Playlist feature finds the songs in your music library that go great together and makes a Genius Playlist for you. It's like having your own highly intelligent, personal DJ.

Find Your Music Faster
It's even easier to find the song you want to hear. Now you can view your album art in Cover Flow. Or just press and hold the Center button to browse by album or artist. When you find the right song, press the Center button to add it to your on-the-go playlist.

Rock and Roll Over
Tilt or turn iPod nano on its side, and you'll listen, watch, and play in new ways. You can flip through your album art with Cover Flow. Or, vertically speaking, see more albums and artists on the screen at one time.

Shake Your Groove Thing
Sometimes, we could all use a little unpredictability. And now you can shake to change your music. Just give iPod nano a shake, and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. You'll always be surprised by what you'll hear.

Let the Games Begin
Now you can get in on games made especially for iPod nano and the accelerometer. They respond to the way you move, so they're immersive, addictive, and a blast. The iPod nano comes with Maze, which lets you work your way through vast mazes by tilting and moving. You can find even more games on the iTunes Store.

Even Your Photos Rock
Pull hundreds of photos from your pocket and share them wherever you go. Hold iPod nano upright and see your photos in portrait view. Turn the player on its side to see them in landscape. Your photos look beautiful in their proper aspect ratio on the vibrant, 320-by-240-resolution display.

The World's Biggest Small Screen
Watching movies, TV shows, and videos is big fun on iPod nano. And the high-resolution picture looks crisp and vivid on the 2-inch widescreen display. So you can always have a little video with you.

User Comments about the Apple iPod nano 16 GB Silver (4th Generation)

I loaded 100 mp3's which run on any other mp3 player and this machine says I have one song on it. It will not see other entries and it is NOT intuitive for those of us that do not have several hours to figure it all out. I got this yesterday and it is going back today. My one adventure with Apple will probably be my last. P.S. It is a complete hassle to load and use. I dislike having a special USB cable end such that it can not be shared with any other piece of equipment.

I really like the nano, it holds a lot of songs and has great sound quality.

If you don't plan on changing your songs immediately, put the hold button on and it won't change. My one big issue with the others was the creation of playlists. It isn't exactly hard to move the hold button. then I'll just suck it up.The style and color are pretty. Creating playlists was ridiculously easy and hey, I actually could create more than one. One decided to be defective 3 times and the other died within 3 months. This works well if you just want to run straight through a playlist or whatever else. The accelerometer is indeed a pain at times, but with all these benefits.

How thin it is is nice (though you may have to check a few times in trying to find it in a purse. I really don't care. I had two mp3 players before this. vs. I did have the problem with it changing over and then not changing the volume. I didn't have the 3rd generation nano so I can't really compare the two, but if this is the only hassle.

Again, when comparing it to any other mp3 player, this one tops them. It even found some of the songs that my Windows Media Player was too stubborn to play. I finally broke down. one of the other players I had. People who have had iPods don't know how lucky they are to have iTunes. As soon as I plugged it in it scanned my computer for music and put it all into iTunes.

The screen size is excellent and I couldn't be happier.

I think the product is solid. Yeah that's a fine idea. For me at least, it's enough for me to play it at work for an entire shift and take it for a run after. If you are playing video, of course it will suck up the battery much faster. It weighs much less, thinner and the display alone justifies the price you pay. Let's just move forward and spend a few bill for new attachments and sell the old ones on eBay.

Don't expect to last longer. If you lock it, it won't move, simple. But to me, that's logical. Plan accordingly and take a cable with you.

As far as attachments, what did you expect, may be a microwave to go along with you new ipod. What about we go back to 8-tracks or how about we start using VHS intead of DVD, wait lets just go back to cassette tapes intead of CD. No seriously, they shouldn't die.may be wait a few months before passing judgement. The battery life is enough.

If you don't want the screen to move. Lock it. In my humble opinion, its a great improvement for the price, especially if you buy the 4GB for $129.

I own three Mp3 players and the Apple Ipod Nano 4th Gen is my favorite. My others are Samsung YZ and Sansi Rhapsody. The Nano is very easy to use and read.Love it.
