Since this was such a big purchas (literally), I thought it might be safer to buy it from the store. The menu controls are thin and are located on the top of the TV instead of the front so they aren't noticeable at first glance.Even without the 120Hz MotionFlow feature, I caught some baseball and football games and didn't notice too much of the "pixeling" that occurs when there's a lot of motion on the screen. They delivered and setup the TV to show that it worked. But after careful consideration, and weighing my options.
It just felt safer for me to simply go out and buy it from the local Best Buy. I have a 32" HD Samsung in the bedroom and this television is far far superior.Albeit the Samsung is about 5 years old and is a 1080i.Sleek contemporary design. There were no dead pixels and no scratches or dents. It's been a month now and the TV still works great. I have a DVD player, Cable Receiver, and Direct TV receiver connected to this TV. I decided to purchase from Amazon and the transaction went completely smoothly.
When switching between these video sources, the screen goes to Sony's default background for a couple of seconds before actually displaying the video. I hesitated quite a bit before purchasing this TV from Amazon.
I saved over $600 by purchasing it from Amazon. (Best Buy had the same model for $500 and my sales tax here is 10%).
Amazon offers white glove delivery for the televisions and the service was spectacular. I'll keep this short. What I like:Great pictures quality.
It's not a big issue, but I'm pretty impatient when it comes to these kinds of things. Finally,I'd like to comment on the Amazon delivery service. I've seen the Motionflow feature in action on an XBR4 and it's definitely better than this TV.
But if spending an extra few hundred bucks is out of the question for you, then I would highly recommend this model.Great price for a Sony and you're not sacrificing quality. What I don't like:Only thing I noticed that kinda annoys me is the delay in the response when you're changing input sources. Highly recommended.
The best option to go with this TV is to take HD channels , max u can get is 1080 i , but still its good enough. I loved this feature because I have a PS3 and playing games and watching cable can be done simlataneously :)* I would say if u have a PS3 or any blue ray player you will get the ultimate picture quality offered by the tv as the output of ps3/blue ray player is 1080p.* Sound quality is good ,though I use an external system I like the sound from the TV.Cons* I thought that HDMI devices can be controlled from the TV as there are some options available but it is not so* There could be some features provided where multiple channels can be watched on the TV. * There are various preset color combination modes provided like "vivid" , "cinema" etc and also u can set it to the custom mode if u want to. This is definitely a good buy and highly recommended. Watching football games in vivid mode is awesome.* The other feature which I liked is u can have two inputs simultaneousy split on the screen. click options on remote and then choose P&P. I waited for sometime before writing this review.Did so because there were some reviews which said that the TV worked for a week and then it went down.
There are 4 HDMI , 1 PC , 3 other external component input connections* The Picture quality is ultimate. I have had this for 2 months now and let me say this is the ultimate viewing experience. Let me get to the Pros and ConsPros* The biggest advantage is the number of input connections which it provides.
It was a great deal and the perfect size. I'll judge and update when the technician looks at it. I moved my old 32" Sharp Aquos and hauled the Sony out of the box, set up the the stand (which was very finicky), and plugged it in. The power light went green but the screen did nothing and all of the sudden the standby light blinked red twice. It was not actually for me but fora relative who didn't realize how large this television was, so when it came I took it and gave her my old Sharp 32" Aquos, an alright TV that served me well for a good two years. It's a shame though.
They then gave me the number of a certified technician. You can't have everything. I called Sony support and they had me do a power reset, but no luck. I left a message and now I am stuck with a broken TV.
We'll see how good it is when it's fixed but for now I am not impressed with Sony's build quality. I am debating whether to get a replacement and/or different brand or stick it out and get it fixed. When I ordered this TV I was so excited. I was going to go with Samsung for this TV but I expected Sony to have better build quality, since they charge considerably more and have a good track record from what I hear (no PS3 problems for me yet).
I was debating between one of the new LED Samsung's or a Panasonic plasma's. When this washere with no one to take I said why not and settled for lower quality. It looks really, really cool in person.
USE A DIGITAL AUDIO CABLE AND TURN YOUR LIVING ROOM INTO A CINEMA WITH EVERY TV PROGRAMS OR INFACT ANYTHING WITH AUDIO. THIS SET HAS ALL YOU WILL NEED IN THE FUTURE WITH SOFTWARE UP AND LOTS OF INPUTS FOR ALL YOUR TOP NOTCH DEVICES. GREAT VIDEO AS WELL ESPECIALLY USING HDMI 1080p, YOU CANNOT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT.
No complaints. Great picture. Delivery a little slow, but it is free. The television is awesome. And a great deal on Amazon too.
