I love this TV no regrets. It was between this model and a Samsung model when I went looking. The TV has a guide which walks you through the steps to set it up which are very easy. Well it looks like Sony has fixed the issue through a simple software update for our TV. Not withthis TV the regular stations look great and the HD station look even better. You simply have to either download the update to your USB flash drive or give Sony a call and they will mail you the USB flash drive with the update so you can connect it to your TV and update its software to fix this sparkle issue. It did cost a few hundred dollars more than some other brand models but well worth it.
You won't be sorry if you invest the extra money and get this TV.Many folks are also complaining about the White dot (Sparkle) problem that can be seen during HDMI source playback at the top corner of the screen. I just brought this TV and love love it. We have another HD TV but the regular station look bland. I had a lot of Sony products so I went with this model. I am so glad I did. As simple as that.
It's even better than advertisement suggests. Delivery was fast. Outstanding product. Product arrived in perfect contion.

It sits next to my ps3. I had vizio before (i still do), wow what a quality difference while playing game or watching tv, movies. TV is rich in feature. After shopping around more than 3 month, I was in debate of samsung ln40a550 or kdl v4100. I went with sony 'coz of reliability and 24p movie option. Picture is very good and sound is not bad either.
I tried samsung, sharp, vizio, zenith, westinghouse, and this sony tv is the best of them all. It's got the best dark level and i saw some dark details even my 23" samsung and 32" 1080p sharp doesn't show.extremely happy with this TV. Had this TV for 2 month now. Make sure you do your TV settings in picture "custom" (there are standard, vivid, custom, and cinema). i first use "standard" and it auto dim during dark scene which will loose dark detail. It's perfect. Custom does not auto dim backlight.
