Nice little radio, but reception is really lacking.Bought it because where I play it, it's sure to be stolen sooner or later. But it was so cheap, I won't be out of a lot of money if it walks.
This radio is perfect for my hurricane kit - it's compact and uses AA batteries instead of D or C, which are more expensive.
This is a lightweight radio that gets excellent AM reception. Amazing quality for the price.
I bought three, one for myself and two as gifts. Ive compared this puppy with several high-end Eton radios that I own and the Sony can get any stations the Etons can get. This thing is an incredible value. It looks good, sounds good, has great reception, the batteries last forever and its a Sony and costs $25.00You cannot find these in any stores other than Frys and I'm convinced its because they make everything else look inferior by comparison. I cant believe something that works this well can be had for $25.00
I was unable to find one locally and wanted one to have bedside. Sony ICF38 Portable AM/FM Radio (Black)This radio has been a very satisfactory purchase for me. The only "problem" I have with it is that the plug-in for the earjack is extremely hard to unplug when I want to listen to the radio without it.
