User Comments about the Philips WAS7500/37 Streamium Wireless 80 GB Hard Disk 80 Watt RMS Music System

Also, be mindful of the GB allowance, make sure you are not exceeding your monthly quota.5) USB playback - do not exceed the allowed depth of directories, I put my artists/albums right in the root of the USB drive. incredible. The sound quality is amazing, but you need good/fast broadband connection. make sure the type of streams match the Stations' capability (read the manual, I think mp3 and wma).I am very happy with the Internet radio stations selection, you can go by genre, age ('70s. I just set my laptop to allow UnPN, I'll update the posting once I have some results.7) Last, but not least: the sound.Surprinsingly rich and deep for the profile and volume of the Station; there is a button titled "incredible surround", which is. It does. Minor setback, I wish I could use a shortcut key (press "P" for Pink Floyd e.g).

I do not have a 20Hz-20,000Hz range, either, but I enjoy the richness and depth of the sound. Some of the features are clearly related to having the Center's HD connected are not available, but everything else is ok. Very modern and minimalistic look. There aren't any other.

I tried the sound as high as I could, without disturbing the wildlife and the neighbors, and I couldn't hear any objectionable distortions. Only the Center has it.2) The looks: the size of a small laptop monitor, it has a black sheen screen(so far untarnished by my fingerprints), good display where you can read song titles etc when in Internet radio or if the FM radio stations have this info available. To type your e-mail address with the remote, use it like your cell phone (press several times on a key to cycle through different letters/numbers). I couldn't find a shortcut to go to a certain artist/album, so far I scrolled down until I found what I wanted.

sometime soon. The speakers are integrated into the slim casing, nothing sticks out, very unobtrusive.3) FM radio - very good reception, easy to scan, it takes some using to store stations in memory, otherwise very good reception.4) Internet radio. All in all, I am very happy with the Streamium Station; I will try to play my library from my 250GB external drive. yes, you can buy the Station and use it stand alone. Maybe Philips will release a firmware upgrade.

Btw, I had to REALLY look for details in Philips manuals to understand whether the Station works (at all) without the Center. It took me a couple of times to key in my network's WPA key (I use an N1 Belkin), the Station sends a registration e-mail to your e-mail address, go to your e-mail and follow the instructions. 6) UnPN - didn't try it yet. Here is my recent experience:1) First off, I bought just the music station, not the center, which is a lot more $$, and I already have enough computer power elsewhere.

er. I had no problems playing them; it also helps if the song tags are in the right place (artist/album/style/etc) so you can easily distinguish between your songs. The sound seem to gain another dimension, makes you look around for the other speakers and subwoofers.

I was looking for a radio that would play my music collection via an USB, be able to tap into internet radio and have a good, rich sound without having to mess with wires, speakers etc. '80s) etc. Not finding anything under $500 I even looked in the UK (TerraTec Noxon player), but finally settled on the Philips streamium system.

You need to give it a few minutes to receive the confirmation back from Philips, after that the Station recognizes your account name and you are ready to go.There are 3 free services available, go to Philips to streamium management to select your favorites or add your own URL radio streams. So. And, again, this DOES NOT have HD.

can hardly wait.
