User Comments about the Sony RDR-GX360 1080p Tunerless DVD Recorder

Unfortunately, I did not save my receipt and am stuck with this in-operable DVD player. Shame really, usually you can rely on "Sony" but not this time. Also purchased in August 2008 via a different retailer, but the problem of FREEZING while watching a DVD must be a design FLAW since it did the same thing on my player. Buyer Beware.

The biggest glitch is when ANY pre-recorded (store bought) DVD gets to the point of "dual layer" transition-the player freezes and wont move. Now, a lot of DVD players pause/freeze momentarily at this point, but this thing just sticks. I bought this in June thinking it would be perfect for recording and playback. Im sending it back for repairs. Stay tuned. The recorded discs seem to play only on some DVD players-which is par for the course with home-made DVDs. I struck out on both counts. BUYER BEWARE.
