Almost every feature you have to pay extra for, example, Bluetooth, remote, etc. Also I did not find the menu system to be very user friendly. I returned this and end up buying the Clarion MAX685BT.
It does not have the ability to connect Subs and the Front/Rear Pre-Amp outs. It has built in BT, comes with a remote, and SUB pre outs. I have typically always had Pioneer head units in the past I was very impressed by the look and performance.
The menu interface reminds me of something from the days of DOS. This however did not meet my expectations at all. Audio quality was pretty good but thats about where the pros end.
For about the same price.
picture quality, either for dvd movies or for back-up camera, is really good and the sound production for dvd movies, radio, cd, mp3/wma, iPod, usb, is much better. overall, it's really good package and recommended for OEM upgraders. the head unit has additional 1-video out, 2-dual channel pre-amp/speaker out, and 1-a/v input. excellent car audio/video head unit. the outputs provide audio/video for additional monitor for rear passengers. the inputs provide connection for video game console, camera or tv tuner. recently, I decided to upgrade the OEM radio/cd in my 2007 honda pilot with pioneer avh-p4000dvd, with audiovox wireless back-up camera, pioneer HD radio and pioneer iPod cable add-ons.
thanks to smart ideas posted in google, the pioneer head unit can play dvd while driving or parked. took me about 12 hours in 2 days to remove the existing head unit and install the new equipment. used metra wiring and antenna harnesses for quick connections, and metra installation kits to fit the head unit. thanks pioneer.
But the Radio dos not work in my country Saudi Arabia. The frequency is American and it dose not work in hear. Grate product. And you can not do any thing to this problem.
The IPOD integration is AWESOME. My big thing now is listening to director commentaries on DVD (you dont really have to see the screen since people are mostly talking). It has a little wheel display on the touch screen and its really easy to pick your favorite songs. All in all for the price this cant be beat. I am also VERY happy with the DVD player. We did a little "doctoring" so we can watch DVD's while I'm driving (safely of course) and it has really made the long trips a lot more bearable. I bought this about 1 month ago and installed it on my own.
(its not the radio's fault tho). For the most part the install was really easy. If you have a ford and are trying to do the steering wheel controls I advise against it. Pioneer has consistently good products and the fit and finish is first rate.
This is perfect to entertain my son when we're in the car, plus i swicht from a dvd movie, to my ipod songs with just one touch, then to the radio, and so, and so. Is an awsome product, i'm very happy with it.
