They said they were sorry and will ship to me the correct one immediately, BUT then they did it again. They refused, threaten to charge me the price of RP5130 if I keep it. They shipped me another RCA RP5120. More to that, they wanted me to waste more of my time running to the post office to send them back the item otherwise, they wont give the any refund. Arggggg. I called them up to find out if they could just make me an offer to let me keep the RP5120 and refund half only half the price I brought. This is my story:I needed this product over two weeks ago and so, I ordered this product from Amazon.
So, okay, I was cool about it and I told them about this. Amazon shipped this thing to me over a week after but they shipped the wrong one to me. Instead of RCA RP5130, they gave me RCA RP5130. Is this how they treat their loyal customer.
As the name says, it records and it does it well. However, it is already falling apart and I have only use it for six days and not even heavily. This recorder have been in my possession now for two weeks. The button for the + volume have already drop and is nowhere to be found.
So I ride to work and use it to listen to notes or podcasts at fast speed. Pros-Good battery life.-Fits in my cell phone holster.-Easy to get files on and off of it.Cons-When you turn it off it loses that your settings like the speed you were playing at. I turned it off and don't use it again till the next day that I do the same thing and I have to re-set it to fast speed again.-When you turn it off and come back it looks like you are on the track you left off on, but when you press play it returns to the first one in the folder.
If there is a way to get it to record in MP3 format, I haven't been able to find it in the fairly skimpy documentation. It records in.voc format rather than MP3, as advertised. Excellent recorder for dictation. Pretty good recording streamed music (mono), if recording through a mic jack cable, rather than the built-in mic. However, it's a very good value overall.
Small, cheap and perfect for inobtrusive recording. Picks up voice from some distance. It does not have an intuitive interface, but once you get the hang of it, it works well. Play back sound was a little scratchy with the unit, but when downloaded to computer and used in a slide program, the sound was very clear.
