The only downside would be the size. Very happy with it. I bought the TV just for the bedroom and ended up using it as a PC monitor as well as a television set. The built in tuner works great and allows me to get some HD channels that I couldn't get with my set top tuner. I didn't realize how small a 19 inch TV is because I'm use to my bigger TV in the living room.
It costs as much to fix it as it does to replace it. This item lasted about one year before the screen went black. Save your money for a decent TV.
I just thought it would be faster and easier to deal with the manufacturer.was I wrong. A week later (after the remote died) the LCD screen developed problems. I did a search and found this sylvania. Funai would not send me a new replacement and in fact wanted me to send it back to Amazon. It took two weeks for it to be picked up and then when I called for status they said another 6 to 8 weeks.
I finally called amazon and they apologized and asked why I didn't tell them sooner. I called and it took 6 to 8 weeks to receive a replacement. My daughter asked me to find a reasonably priced HD/SD/NTSC TV for college. I probably could have lived with this but there is more. What a sorry company.
Problems from the onset.the remote died 3 hours after use. I am still waiting for the TV to send it back to Amazon.
I received almost the same TV but in a larger screen size as a Christmas present, so when I needed to add a second TV for my bedroom I went with the same brand. Very nice picture, decent sound, reliable.
Speakers are weak and would need additionals if being used in a large room. (This has since been corrected in ad). Nice enough TV. I was kind of disappointed because it was advertised with an HDMI input but had none. Picture is clear and bright and it picks up the HD channels in my area just using rabbit ears.
