Now I never have static or have to worry about an open station. It doesn't have the travel capability of the Stiletto but I have an ipod and do not need that anyway. I think it is a great radio and worth the money. I didn't want to get another portable radio but my last sportster broke when I dropped it. This one works great and I am extemely happy with the addition of the auxilary plug and bypassing the fm transmitter. It was cheaper on Amazon then the Sirius website or any other place with the free shipping.
This is the top of the line radio. delivery was on time and came as advertised.
This is my favorite reciever, I can move it from the car to the house to my plug and play Boom box and it sounds great.
It didn't do that the first day I had it but has been doing it since then, so hopefully it won't be forever. The only complaint I have is that when I turn it on it takes about 2 minutes for "Sirius Updates". I got this a few days ago and so far I love it. You can customize your settings pretty easily and the screen display is really nice. I have the car dock and home dock, and so for home I just got some computer speakers to plug into it and it works great.
That for me is a big negative. It works fine, however I would not say the sound quality is the same as the factory model in my other car, and it certainly cannot go very high. I like the SP5, and I like SIrius over XM. However when I had XM the unit was factory installed (lease ended so I went and got SIrius).I Bought the SP5 and Paid 90$ for installation. All else is quite nice with the unit
