So I decided to buy one for myself. A person at my job had this item and it worked extremely well for him. Awesome purchase.

I recently bought a MacBookPro and needed a digital voice recorder that was compatible with a Mac and PC. The Olympus is easy to use and downloads on both computers.

What agreat item -it allows me to make some notes for myself/Bring work home and visa/versa.and odly enough I use it while driving and hearing an interesting commercial - I pick up my unit and recorrd the commercial complete with either the phone number or website - "works well for me" - Ease of use and compatability - and besides that - I am on a diet and have my hypnosis session to lose weight on it for when I am feeling those pangs of hunger (LOL)

Definitely mac compatible and a great price for what you get. I use it to record class lectures and have no problem hearing my professors upon playback. I highly recommend this if you are a student, and if you have a mac, since almost any other recorder in this price range does not work with a mac.

there is something wrong with the battery module. It does not turn on but does transfer data to the computer. I purchased this for my wife to use at her nursing school. It worked great for about 1 week and then it stopped working completely. i would not recommend this unit.
