Unfortunately the products price isn't cheap, at least in my opinion $75 for 6 months of use ins't cheap. The 5 dvd trays feel like they are going to break just using them. worked fine for a while, then it started making a very loud noise while playing dvd's. Eventually the loud noise became worse and it stopped reading discs all together. The back connector plate is made of plastic and looks cheap.
because it is. Lets face it, this product is cheap. Purchased this product 6 months ago for about $75 from the local walmart. Don't believe me, wait till you get it out of the box. get something else.
sort of sounded like a helicoptor in the distance. Good luck.
While the layout of buttons on the remote is far from perfect, I have certainly used less intuitive remotes. The unit itself does not appear to be exceptionally well-made, and does seem rather cheap. It isn't noisy, per se, but neither is it particularly quiet. However, it only excels when its most uncommon, and clearly oft overlooked, feature is taken advantage of.Here is a rough overview of the unit, as I have used it:First off, let me state that the TV I am using this with is a pretty old 19" Sharp CRT in my bedroom, so I am not in a position to judge true picture quality produced by the unit (let alone HD-upconversion). This means that one can enjoy as much as 9 hours of decent-quality recorded material on each single-sided recordable DVD disc. It has an unusual multi-tray disc loading system (instead of the carousel found in most changers) that seems quite odd, but does allow for the exchanging of discs while one continues to play. When taken full advantage of, this feature alone more than makes up for all of the unit's other shortcomings. It does not change discs particularly quickly. In summary, there is no compelling reason to buy this changer if one is interested in a well-made, ergonomic, moderately-featured DVD (or CD) changer.
Not the fastest way to burn discs, but it certainly beats my oldest 2 players which will not read discs burned faster than 2.4X.As far as the interface goes, this machine does leave much to be desired. There are much better choices on the market for such a unit. However.HERE IS WHAT MAKES THIS UNIT STAND OUT:It is a 5-disc changer capable of playing compressed video files (particularly MPEG4 and xvid-encoded AVI files) for under a hundred bucks. This product is an ABSOLUTELY UNBEATABLE value.when purchased for the right reason. While there are numerous useful basic features (including zoom), the remote control is absolutely TINY (which means that the buttons are miniscule as well) and difficult to use for someone with large hands (such as myself). However, the picture it produces looks equivalent to the other DVD players I've used with the same TV.As far as reading discs goes, this reads discs more reliably than any of my other 3 DVD players (which, granted, are older units). In my experience, it has no problems reading properly burned DVD+R discs as long as they are burned at slower speeds (I've used primarily Sony media burned at 6X and 8X speeds; the 16X discs I made did experience some read problems near the very end of the recordings).
You are unlikely to find another player (let alone a CHANGER) with this feature anywhere near this price-range.
I own this player and it is very nice. I have not had it skip one time and the picture is crystal clear. The five trays are nice, but I don't really use them that much. It is hard to believe people don't like this player. Of course at this point there are only 4 reviewers. I have only owned the player for 2 weeks and 20+ movies but so far I am extremely impressed.
It worked, generally out of the box. Two stacks of different ones. 5 DVD's is nice. Yech.I would pass on this player.ALWAYS read reviews before you buy. Great picture, good sound. I just bought it because it was the only 1080P there at the store. But I returned it because it would not play my home DVD-R DVD discs properly.
It would stutter, sound would go out of sync. Went to the store, all the good ones gone. I found out why. This product had a big stack. I guess no one wanted it. Big mistake.
It's really just a storage device for multiple discs. It stops when it reaches the end of a disc.for example, there is no way to have continuous play of CD music. It must be manually advanced to the next disc. Be aware that you are buying the very most basic of players. This DVD/CD player is called a "changer", but it will not automatically advance to the next disc. Also, for music CDs the "repeat" feature only repeats one song.no option to repeat an entire CD of music. From my perspective, I was embarrassed to give this as a gift.
