I have to say, I was impressed with the BASS600's ability to provide good low end bass in a Jeep. If you're looking to rattle your neighbor's windows this is not the unit to buy. We installed this in our 2000 Jeep Wranger. If you're a Jeep Wrangler owner, you already know how difficult it is to have a good sound system due to the limited space. It's also very easy for someone to break into a Wranger so you do not want to invest major dollars. I was hesitant to buy this due to the low price, figured we would get what we paid for. This unit fits very nicely under the rear seat or it can be mounted on the rear tailgate.
I now control it via the EQ in my stereo. You can adjust the loudness or even turn it off if desired. The unit delivers a lot of bass for the money, I actually had to disable the Bass booster and loudness because it was too much. The unit is installed under my passenger seat.If you're building a nice system for your car, I highly recommand the Boss Audio BASS600. Not only it's a sub, but it's got a built in amp so you're getting 2 in 1 package. It's easy to install and not very big. I recently purchased a Pioneer Avic F900BT in-dash system for my Subaru. I had good speakers, but the lows were killing them.I decided to get a sub/amp but didn't want to mount anything in the trunk.I ended up buying the Boss Audio BASS600 and it is an awesome addition to my stereo. The stereo shop installed and tuned it. Won't rattle the trunk/license plate.
My wife is a Rap fan and this little subwoffer handles that great also. The Boss Base600 is powerful and well constructed and comes at a very low price point.
You won't get stopped for a noise violation but you will add lots of thump to your everyday music. I used the high level (speaker) inputs, I suspect this subwoofer would work even better if my head unit had a subwoofer pre-amp output.
The Boss Base600 powered subwoofer is a great value, This is a self contained amp and subwoofer in a very compact package which fit easily under the driver's seat of my 2005 Nissin Frontier pickup. This unit is also very atractive and would look great if installed in an exposed location.
I added this to my stock radio and speakers and the whole system sounds rich and powerful. I am a rock/funk fan, from NIN to Rick James it all sounds great.
I am 100% happy and plan to purchase a Boss Base1200 (10 inch subwoofer) for my wife's Honda S2000 as soon as I find one at a good price.
Fits well in the car (unlike the bazooka I have in my truck) under my seat. The vibrations come up through the seat and is very cool. Not enough to shake the car next to you (hate that). I'm 40 and like Rock and other stuff with a good sound. This thing is great. Get it if you're looking for a nice boost.
And although this subwoofer fits under your seat which is great (i have a VW Polo 2003 Hatch), it's so thin that it doesn't let the driver to "breath" properly, to unleash all the potential, it would be great if this bass had a hole in one side for this. .but it's the best choice you can make for this kind of audio subwoofer which you can put under your seat to feel the "bass in you butt" :) let me explain a little bit:First, the power RMS output it's not what is stated here (400W), the box says it's 200W RMS, which i still think is about half of this power when you turn it on, because i have the Logitec X-530 surround speakers in my computer, and the subwoofer of the Logitec (which is about 25w RMS) sounds as loud as this bass600, so this bass lack a little bit of RESONANCE, that's why you can't hear it as loud from outside the car. So if you have a Logitec x-530, you know what you can expect. But despite that, it doesn't matter if you listen to heavy metal or a string quartet, it will give you good, great balance to the sound of you car, considering you have just a receiver and speakers (without amp), and it reproduces ALL the notes all the way down to 20 hz, just be sure to use the settings properly, and you'll have great bass, and clean balanced audio in your car, loud enough you'll have to yell hard to the person next to you for he/her can hear you.I truly recommend it.
