So I'd recommend this if you want a nice radio & something that can recharge your iPod and you want to listen to things at a low to mid volume. The "bass" and "treble" options aren't much help. Works well for a radio but as a sound system it is woefully inadequate. At high volumes the speakers simply cannot hold a good sound. Otherwise it's not a great option.
It works well with her Nano. It is a bit difficult for a 10 year old to set the alarm, so she really doesn't use it for that. We gave this to our daughter for Christmas last year. Why can't clock radios have more intuitive controls for setting the alarm.
But it plays the music clear and great. The remote is very nice to have, to control the device from a distance. The Ihome is a little big/bulky. I love it.
As my eye sight is garbage without glasses, this type of clock is not good for me; can't read the digits without glasses. The IH8 is reverse; dark digits with an illuminated background. The Good: -sound is better than the average clock-radio. -nice to be able to listen to your ipod at night-recharges your ipod while you sleepThe Bad:-the remote is almost worthless (hard to make the IH8 accept the remote's signal)-not sure how to put this, but most clock-radios have illuminated digits, with a dark background. If I'd known this, prior to purchasing the IH8, I would not have purchased the IH8
It does what it promises, I bought a couple other brands and didn't perform as expected.
