You're not getting ripped off, just think of them as a bonus over no earbuds at all. Next year's models will POSSIBLY/likely be:16GB = $149.99, 32GB = $199.99, and so on as the years go on. The iPods themselves are only HALF of what makes them sound good. OK. Right. So don't whine about poor sound if you're using the included buds. You don't say, 'What the fudge - I just bought a 2007 Corvette, and now my buddy says there's a 2008 - I've been tricked.' SAME concept here.2. If you spend $800 on a Denon receiver and then go cheap on the speakers, guess what - BAD sound, folks.
Know this when you purchase; it's a fact. First, I'll say I believe this - the third generation Nano - which was released in Sept. That's my comment/complaint there. And if you've already spent good money on a dock and enjoy watching video while your pods docked in it, the 4th generation Nano will not make you happy. 3. Every year they add more space to these pods. Now, the 3 things you all MUST know about iPods are:1. on a decent set of earphones or headphones, folks.
That's why there are new model cars every year, folks. ALL iPod's/iPhones come with standard earbuds that are uncomfortable and of poor sound quality. This year's model is:8GB =$149.99, 16GB = $199.99. You wouldn't think a Toyota Yaris engine would make a Corvette scream down the highway and you SHOULDN'T expect lousy earbuds/headphones/speakers to make your music soar. IF you want GREAT sound AND GREAT fit, you MUST plan to spend at LEAST $40. Pretty basic.
Just KNOW this going into your purchases and you'll do sooooo much better. May not be a big deal to many/most, but what if you want to play a video while it's docked. The included white earbuds should be regarded as throw-away. Also, there's a price scheme to these Nano's. Apple ISN'T ripping anyone off, they're improving and keeping up with technology and competition. Enjoy. 16GB) storage and it's August, WAIT 'till September. You can't - until/unless they come out with a sideways dock.
Right. In short, if you want the latest, greatest Nano at the best price and highest (eg. The new 4th gen is nice, BUT, you have to turn it sideways to watch video. It's the same as a stereo receiver. Cheap earbuds/speakers = BAD sound. Something to consider.
'07 - is the best designed Nano as far as functionality over the new 4th gen Nano. Now, this is NOT guaranteed, but it seems to be Apple's trend for pricing. In MY opinion. For example. I DO like that the new one has increased capacity. New model iPods come out EVERY year in September.
:)
The sound is very good and the features are great. I love the coverflow, it's so easy to use and makes it easy to identify the artists. I mostly use it for the audio, but I have used the video as well and I am very impressed. Well, this is my first Ipod and I love it. It is small enough to use for the gym and the screen is big enough to enjoy videos/movies/etc. I would recomend this Ipod to anyone who wants to enjoy their music on the run.
Originally I thought I wanted pink but green ended up being cheaper. While we're on colors, I will mention that in the picture, the green looks VERY different from what it actually is. And it doesn't take very long for it to charge up again when you hook it up to your computer.Overall, five stars for the product, I love it. So if you're thinking of buying earbuds before you try these, wait. The iTunes software is a bit messed up, but it's very easy to sync songs (only taking about 30 seconds for 8-10 songs). I would describe the actual color as being a almost hunter green, a dark mint. about 4 1/2 stars for iTunes. This iPod is awesome, buy it.
To keep the back from getting scratched with general use, I keep the plastic thing from the original box clipped onto my iPod, it works.Especially since I haven't gotten around to buying a case for it :-). The earbuds that come with the iPod have wonderful sound, and even though I have very small ears, they don't hurt as long as you don't push them in far. The click wheel works perfectly for my small hands, but any bigger hands probably wouldn't be as comfortable as with mine. When I sync it, I take the plactic thing off (because you can't put the USB cable in when it's on), but to keep the back of my iPod from getting scratched from all the dust on my desk, I put it on a towel or washcloth.
Battery life: is extraordinary. I've listened to it for about 5 hours so far, and the battery isn't even halfway used. I saved for a very long time to buy this iPod. When I go running, these stay in better than any I've ever tried.
The sound is PHENOMINAL. You'd think it wouldn't be, coming from a thing that is a mere 3 inches high. Especially while the price is low ;-).
It works great. The quality is good, as always, and it's really quite cute and small, even if I worry that I'll snap it in half someday, haha. I got this nano a while after my old mini died. To protect your iPod I suggest you get a plastic cover thing for it, they really help--I really don't like to get my iPod smudged or scratched. The only thing that may be a bit annoying is that the battery seems to die easily.maybe it's because it's color, or it's just my particular iPod, but the battery power tends to go out a bit faster than my old mini.other than that, it's great.
So much for getting excited about a new purchase and saving money on shipping. I was excited to finally afford my Nano but had to wait two weeks [ one week before the seller even shipped it] to recieve it. That is way too long. My ipod nano is everything I had hoped for.I shopped and read lots of reviews, for months, before I finally decided I had to have it. I had never spent enough to get free shipping before. Ms. I am, however dissapointed with the free shipping from Amazon. Bonnie
