The TuneJuice 2 is an improved version of Griffin's popular battery backup for iPod. The TuneJuice 2 adds more playing time for music and video making it ideal for air travel and road trips. Powered by 4 AAA batteries, it adds up to 14 additional hours of audio play and 2 additional hours of video play.

User Comments about the Griffin TuneJuice 2 Battery Backup for iPod (Black)

I bought this thinking it would work with my ITouch and is does NOT. The manufacture's web site clearly states this as well.

If you plug this in at a fully charged iPod, with fresh batteries, it does a good job adding about 2 - 3 video hours, and about 14 music hours to the life of your battery, which is nice on flights.

I called customer support and they argued with me that the equipment I received supported iPods. The product literature says that in addition to many other devices it supports the iPod Touch. Once again I received the same wrong device. They said that since systems were automated that I probably wouldn't receive the right piece of equipment so they credited my account. The return procedures are automated and they said that they would send me the correct device. It was a real pain in the buttocks dealing with customer service. They didn't understand the concept that all iPods are not the same and said that they would not refund the money.

It wasn't until they finally understood that what I ordered is not what I received. I ordered the TuneJuice 2 for my iPod Touch. I filled out the return form and pointed out their error for sending me the wrong equipment. Instead of the TuneJuice 2 they sent me the TuneJuice (1 I guess)its literature does not include the iPod Touch as one of the devices that it supports. It supports many other devices and iPods but not the Touch. So I never received this device.

What a piece of junk. I just about threw this thing away until I read other people's reviews - so apparently it was never meant to chearge an Ipod, it only slows the rate of drainage. maybe I will throw it away after all.

You must hold the ipod for the entire time since it connects on the bottom and does not allow you to use a "stand". You also should check to make sure that the batteries have good contact as they shift in the case and then they do not work. I bought this right before a long flight. It only slows down the drain on your ipod rather than substituting for the ipod battery. It really was not worth it.
