Number two: it works, and it works well. No other iPod charging product even compares to this in price. It (obviously) charges anything that uses USB, so when my phone is running low on the road, I just plug that in too. I was a little hesitant to purchase this at first, but I am very glad that I did. I wanted this so I could charge my iPod Touch on the road (I use my iPod cable). I've used it for a few months now with no problems whatsoever. Number one: it's cheap. Overall, this is a great product.
