I just wish they had enlisted an industrial designer with a little "Apple" sense - the dock is almost twice as big as it needs to be. I am therefore moving it out of sight, which should solve that problem while making it a touch more inaccessible for easy swapping of the mini-tuner to my car. The product works extremely well. The whole mini-tuner concept by XM is GREAT.

It got excellent reception. Displayed all of the relevent information. This product worked as promised. It plugged directly into my reciever. No need to place the antenna in the window.

Luckily Amazon customer service is awesome and they are taking the device back. Therefore it only makes sense to purchase the home docking kit and tuner if you don't plan on buying a portable receiver. I purchased the XM home docking kit and tuner under the impression I could use the tuner in a portable device as well as with my home stereo system. It turns out that most, if not all, of the portable devices out there already have a built in tuner and come with a home docking station. Thanks Amazon, great as always.

However it pickup signal in concrete apartment building very far from any windows. I was looking for XM solution for my apartment and was afraid that I will need to run wire to window with south view. Just perfect.

This gives me the freedom to pull the chip and take it in the house and use it in the XM Ready Stereo. The CNP2000 Mini-Tuner Home Dock and Car Dock system is a BRILLIANT IDEA. WHAT A WONDERFUL SYSTEM. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE. Sure, you can use a XM Receiver in a boom box, but that's like listening to AM Ready when you have an iPOD. GET A XM-READY STEREO and LISTEN to XM the way it was meant to be heard -- in the house on a great system - ALL THE TIME. I like the Mini-Tuner.

So, I pulled it and went back to the OEM radio and added the CommanderMT and Mini-tuner kit. I was using a after market radio and Audiovox XMD1000 units for XM Radio. Not happy with the after market radio. THANK YOU AUDIOVOX.
