User Comments about the Olevia 542i 42-Inch LCD HDTV

if you like having a tv that breaks down all the time.this the tv for you. and when you call costumer service and have a ghetto person say to you.wha cha want.this the company for you.if you like buying a tv that breaks down in 6 months.have it replaced and the replacement tv breaks in 6 months too.this is the tv for you.get the word out.syntex olivia is the worst company in america

The company was very good to deal with. I would definitely buy from this company again.

Fed Ex was terrible. They should be ashamed for their lack of service.

This product lived up to its hype. Make sure you buy the HDMI Digital Video Cable.

Very good picture and sound. Am very pleased with it.

It doesn't come with the the tv but is available through Amazon at a very good price.

They wouldn't offer to help with anything and they said they lost my registration card, the same one they used to call me with to ask me how I liked it a week after I bought the TV. Customer service said I would have to pay to ship it back and pay the parts and labor to fix it and that would cost over half of the TV's cost. Don't buy a Syntax Olevia. I bought one and it died almost to the day the warranty went out. So all I can do is to post this to every blog I can to try to inform others.

some stations have this this strip of fuzziness at the top (looks like static.>) on SOME HD channels. Also, I might have gotten a silver TV, not a black one. As far as picture quality go, it's top notch. We researched TV's on CONSUMER REPORTS and this one gained great reviews so we went with it.We have not been disapointed. I don't know if this is typical, but it sure is aggravating and it's been there from the beginning. but that is just me.

2. There are a few cons though: 1. I love this TV. the look: I personally prefer the look of speakers on the SIDE of the TV, not underneath it. You get used to it after awhile though. For the price, though, we love it.

The picture is crystal clear. BEAUTIFUL picture.

The set-up was easy, the picture very sharp w/ my Direct TV. Sure, there are other sets that have a better picture, colors, controls, but also at twice the price.

I have no idea of off-air quality. I wasn't real crazy on how the OSD worked, but I got used to it.

Actually this is my third Olevia. The way I view buying TV's these days is why spend a lot of money on technology that will be out of date within a year.

I own a 27", 37" and now a 42". All three are a great value.

Unless you've got money to burn, Olevia deserves a close look.
