I am not a stereophile but appreciate a good movie with surround and blasting a good tune. Has plenty of power for me (10 x 12 room - open to the next room). Works great, have a simple surround hooked up with a 40" LCD HDTV and DVD player. Even hooked it to a pair of outdoor speakers.
I ended up having to plug PS3 directly into the TV and digital audio into the receiver. The receiver does not pull the audio out of the HDMI stream, so it doesn't pay to spend the money. Outside of that I still got a great deal. Works great. Although, if I had to buy another I wouldn't spend the extra money to get the HDMI options. I saved $400 on the receiver and JBL speakers over the Best Buy prices.
The auto calibration could be little more refined. The menu's are easy to follow and setup. This unit is very easy to hook up. It does take a little time especially if you have a lot of components like me. All in all this unit is excellent.
Couldn't beat the price through any of the local retailers. Great sound for the price. Took quite a long time for set up but was very easy to set up by following the instructions.
Easy to set up and operate. System provides excellent sound. Seemingly infinite options to satisfy all needs.
