Gray tint provides cool cinema affect, but best with bright projector or very dark room. Even though there's a solid bar that runs along the entire bottom of the screen, I think ripples may be a compromise for pull-downs that I'm willing to accept. Housing and screen are both very durable and good looking. One gripe: V-shaped ripples in screen. The ripples do seem to change if you play with it by closing and re-opening, but I don't think you can eliminate them.Still a very fine projection screen. I actually got a replacement for my first one to ensure this was the norm. Second one did the same but most people do not see any affect while viewing, so I kept it. This screen looks great and it's huge.
Has great picture with good clarity, brightness, and contrast. Be sure to have big room or you'll have to swing your head too much to watch. Also, resolution of projector should be greater than 720dpi if you're sitting within 8 feet. By the way, got mine at a good price at TekGalaxy.Com and they were very servicable with return or replacement.
The blacks are blacker, the reds are redder.you get the idea. I think it is a worthwhile investment. The box was damaged in shipping, which dented the outer case. The white wall was so good a screen surface, that I delayed purchasing a screen for several months. It is not much brighter an image, but the contrast is so much richer. The screen was fine, so I kept it, but you may want to be more careful with UPS shipments.
