Repeating this step after each word recording makes it quite impractical for this purpose. I don't know if the full size iPods have their headphone outputs on the top, so it may work better for those, but my wife has to disconnect iTalk before she can listen. My wife uses it to record short snippets of herself, so that she listen to and correct her pronunciation of some particular words in a foreign language. She is happy with the recording quality, but it blocks the headphone output of iPod Nano 2G (the tall ones with metallic colors, but cannot play video). Otherwise it works as promised; the recordings gets transferred to our iTunes automatically.
This thing works great right out of the box. Mine survived an accidental laundering in the washing machine without noticeable loss of function.
It records voice or instrument with a touch, and the sound is crystal clear. Plays back to your dock or computer, so you can make a CD. This is a great product for the Nano. This is the answer to a prayer.
However, this device works probably max. 2 hours on a full ipod battery. This product works fine, the sound quality is quite ok. When my battery was half full and I recorded an interview, the battery died after 1 hour.
Great Product. I would recommend it.My ipod does not seem to be able to go beyond an hour with it, which was a bit disappointing since I intended to record 3 hour long lectures.
