the ending is abrupt and tedious. here in this suposed sequel we have an over blown big budget sequel that doesnt resemble the original in anyway. the editing is also very cheap.which is wierd for a big budget movie like this one. the acting is stale,the lines are that of someone with no experience.
just watch it if you are a fan of the first,dont exprect a masterpiece,expect a dumb sci-fi movie. but the rest is stupidity beyond imagination.
Riddick in search of refugee finds help from one of the survivors of the first movie Abu "Imam" al-Walid (Keith David) it seems the refugee is futile, this is due to the unexpected attack by some outlanders known as Necromongers; their task is to conquer,conquer like the romans.funny thing is they are dressed in a similiar fashion. Its beyond me how both Thandie Newton and Judi Dench acepted to work in this garbage.
as i said the effects are cool,so is the designing of the whole movie.but thats it;the remaining of the film is just crap and more crap. Pitch Black was no masterpiece but atleast it had some mystery and maintained some moments of unpredictability.
anyways the movie does have some good points,such as descent visual effects,nicely choreographed fight scenes. this sequel takes place some years after the events of the first movie.
this time around Riddick is on the run from some missionaries who want to capture him alive. MY PERSONAL RATING: 1 OUT OF 5
The characters are all loveable, even the bad guys. Parts of it seemed to be left unfinished, but that may be fodder for a second movie. This is the kind of movie you don't get tired of watching over and over again. All in all, I obviously liked it or I wouldn't have ordered it for my collection.
Although there were some parts that I thought were just plain silly like (SPOILER) Riddick and Jack trying to prove who was the better killer (END SPOILER SECTION), overall it was a good movie. This is the sequel to Pitch Black and wow, was it good.My husband and I watched it together and we were both thoroughly entertained by the effects, the characters, and the storyline. Not a deep, oscar-worthy movie, but good enough to watch and recommend to others.
Also this place is one of the last places to find hd dvd movies. It always seems like I'm getting a gift, even though I pay for it. better pop it in my hd dvd player. has extra footage to actually help you understand the movie better. surprise.It's my movie. very creative. Thank you amazon.
The movie by the way was in great condition. I received my order quickly. something else. I mean there it is wrapped up in the mailing packaging. is it my movie. I hope they continue the series.
Slow it down. No. The problem was a lot of the fun I was having was laughing during what was supposed to be some of the most serious scenes. Guys who want to kill everything. 2: The dialogue got extremely stiff and some of the one liners from the bad guys were unbelievably funny when they were supposed to be menacing.
The bad guys are Necromongers. Hey, he looks so mean I don't want to tick him off so he might never get a bad review from me.The action scenes were all done pretty good although the speeded-up blurry effect (that's also been used in some video games) tended to get annoying. A race that can disappear and float on the wind like spirits are Elementals. C.O.R.
I'll appreciate it more. Parts of it were excellent.Are there better movies in the theatres to spend your money on. Most of the movie was good. Of course he does save the galaxy even while stating several times he really could give care less about anybody.I like Vin Diesel as Riddick. Conclusion: Did I run to the ticket counter and demand my money back. Now the 2 major problems with this movie.1: The major names of places and races were extremely ignorant. After they take over a planet, everyone either converts to their religion or they kill them.
Vin Diesel's Riddick is the best thing about C.O.R. was made for guys like me. A planet of extremely high temperatures is Crematoria. Riddick (a guy who just wants to be left alone) was prophesied to be the savior of the galaxy.
is that the Mecromongers are conquering every planet in the galaxy. Personally, I liked Pitch Black much more although the special effects in C.O.R. They don't want to see a blur of motion, hear pop-pop-pop and the fights over. It might have been, and I did have some fun watching the movie. He fits this role perfectly. Obviously. Howard, so I thought that Chronicles Of Riddick (hereafter referred to as C.O.R). If you are going to use symbolic names please hide it a little better and have a little bit of respect for the viewer's intelligence.

Example: The head of the Necromongers tells an elderly lady something to the effect of, "I will plow you under." That line might belong in an X-rated flick somewhere but it doesn't fit in a big budget science fiction film.
