I bought this about 6 months ago rebuilt on Amazon and paid a local shop $30 to install it. It has alot of buttons I have not taken the time to learn how to use but for a cd/radio system it has been trouble-free and has great sound.
It has inputs and outputs for all your demanding needs. The sound is awesome and crisp. And all this for under $100.
The equilizer has preprogammed and custom settings. Unbelievable. This radio has all I ever wanted.
The remote is a fantastic feature to prevent a distraction from looking at the radio for its buttons. I can play 11 hours of music on one CD when in MP3 format. The display is readable from any angle.
I recommend to all.
The blue backlight displays the song/artist/album name of the mp3 discs that can be made for it. About 200 songs fit onto one CD. The first sony I bought in 1998 and after 8 years, the CD skipped quite a bit on the horrible roads of San Francisco. The remote is a welcome feature I never knew they had. You can put every song from an artist onto one disc. Its very safe to use as its easy to memorize the few buttons on the remote. For example, I put every album of RUSH onto one disc.
Anyways, it was time to replace the old. There is an album button to go to the next album. Its pretty amazing for the price. This is my second after market Sony CD player in my old 1990 Geo Prizm. This CDX-300 is a terrific sounding player. Yes, you would think a world class city would take care of it with HUGE taxes. Well no.
Well worth the money.
I got a wiring harness from Best Buy for my Corolla and it was a piece of cake. It DID play cds with mp3s and wmas burned on them BUT CDs burned with the newest version of iTunes DO NOT WORK.
I put new speakers in my car last year and this thing sure takes advantage of them. Sounds amazing.
Friend of mine gave me this stereo - it's EXCELLENT. NO IDEA WHY.
Sound is AMAZING. Installation was a breeze.
Anyhow other than that this thing is excellent.
This repalced my stock Honda speakers in the CRV and the sound level and clarity has gone up tremendously. However the sound is still great.Final note: Highly recommended. So far it has exceeded my expectations. One thing to point out thought that you can have atmost arond 250 albums or songs on any device (portable or CD) so if you think you can nail this guy with 1000s of albums you are better off buying a laptop or a standalone MP3 player and listen to it. Nothing stands out as such. For those home theater users, its the same deal that you all know about. The manual is farily regular.
Rememeber this is a car deck so it comes with its usual limitations such as feel and no. Also the remote is very handy when you are on the road since it has fewer controls and hence easy to memorize quickly. of controls and tracks it suppots. Remember however that the quality from the aux is a bit worse than the native CD/MP3 disc since auxiliary tend to have lesser juice to drive devices. The front aux is a hugh bonus since you pretty much play any device through this. That can be adjusted as well. I picked up the Sony GT300 over the weekend and had it installed for free (thanks Future Shop).
The display is fantastic in daylight and night though some have complained about it being too bright. I head to lots of music at home and at work using high quality headphones and I am very happy to hear the songs out of GT300. The buttons are a bit small however it can be used fairly easily once you get used to it. If you get this on sale price (even better deal).
