Editorial Reviews:

Imagine... controlling all your devices using only one remote - without a direct line of sight to the components! With the Harmony 890 Remote, you can still control your home entertainment while all those unsightly wires and components remain hidden behind cabinet doors or walls.

User Comments about the Logitech Harmony 890 Advanced Universal Remote Control

Everything programmed correctly on the first try. This remote is easier to use and works much better than the RF 10. Once the software was loaded it took about 10 minutes to update and another 10 minutes to program the remote and RF extender. This remote replaced the Universal RF-10 remote with the RF base station. The Harmony 890 was very easy to program (used the download from logitech's site). Will be selling the RF-10 on e-bay.

Those with Z-wave home automation equipment will benefit from this remote, but the X10 customers will need to buy an extra IR to RF controller. The RF extension really helps those that have their equipment stored in a cabinet or closet. This product truly works. Getting through the setup software is not for the impatient, but once set up, this remote will control basically everything. Optional equipment is also needed if you want to control your PS3 as Bluetooth is not supported.

wrong. well, the fifth control was pretty much the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. But I did my homework, and knew this was the right product for us.

I mean, *I* knew how to operate the four different remotes to get everything working, but my hubby pretty much started to lose it. Then I added AppleTV, and.

Yes, this remote control might have saved my marriage. It took a bit to program (although once I plugged in my components, it did most of the work itself) and finesse, but now one control has taken the place of five remotes.

Or at least kept things below the boiling point. When I purchased the new flat screen LCD TV and home theater package, I thought that it would all be so easy to operate, given it was all Sony products. Ah.

and one marriage remains intact.

i use this remote to control six av components that are inside a desk,is easy to program, and it work ok, but is not impresive technology

The remote is easy to use. It has streamlined our channel-watching at home. The only challenge I've faced is that sometimes one of the many components (TV,DVR,Stereo, etc) will not turn on/off with the others. This universal remote is much better than the infrared system we were using before. I had a friend help to set it up as it took a while and many steps. The help menu quickly gets me back on track.
