They also lose points because it's a model specific car kit, rather than universal, so when the time comes, I am going to have to purchase ANOTHER car kit for my next receiver. Fooled by the "portable" listing, realizing that it's only portable for what was recorded, I just had to deal with it.The car kit is alright, but difficult to position. The difficulty of locating this device also loses them some points because it was no longer affordable or convenient.
They could have given you more options to position it in the right way for your dash or car. I got suckered into purchasing a "portable" unit at an awesome price but a car kit at a staggering obnoxiously high price. Also, minor gripe to some, but no simple on/off button annoys me. I have always used Sirius and I love it.
Ended up having to spend MORE for a clearance receiver + car kit than a new receiver + car kit. Now that the companies XM and Sirius, have merged, you'll have to love it too if you want to get satellite radio.I went with the S50 because it was on sale through the website (clearance). Well, I still needed the car kit, and that was impossible to find.
I have to just unplug it.
I received my order quickly. The price was reasonable. Needed flexibility to use my Sirius satellite radio in more than one vehicle. I had trouble locating the car adapter kit but finally found it on Amazon. I installed the adapter and now am able to use my radio in three different cars.
