After downloading the updated drivers from IOGEAR, I plugged one into each machine, and they were up and running flawlessly in no time.I connected my Blackberry Curve phone, and my bluetooth stereo headphones; both were detected by the computers, and coupled seamlessly. I bought two of these, one for a notebook running Windows XP, and another for a notebook running Windows Vista. The range of these dongles is amazing considering the limitations of bluetooth.
This product feels well built at first but does not have a cap and after rattling around in my pocket for 3 weeks the USB connection seems to be getting a little loose from the external case (it still is firmly attached to the internal parts). This was the second bluetooth adapter I have purchased, the first turned out to be junk. It still works great though, it has great range and has not let me down yet, I highly recommend this for it's durability(my pocket is not very nice to USB jump drives either).
I had such problems that in the end I had to reinstall Office from scratch, which was a huge pain. Eventually, I uninstalled their drivers and it worked fine with plug and play. This product works fine, but beware of the drivers on their CD if you're using Vista. Otherwise, a great buy and much cheaper than buying stuff from Apple.
I'm only using it to connect a Bluetooth headset; pairing was pretty easy, and it connects without too much trouble. No problems here, it does what it's supposed to do. Overall a good buy.
When I tried it in XP, plug and play kept interrupting my installation and I finally gave up. After I tried it on my linux machine, it started working with no special attention.I haven't yet given it another shot in Windows but I can recommend this item for Ubuntu with Gnome.
