User Comments about the Apple iLife '08 [OLD VERSION]

iMovie 08 is a HORRIBLE replacement for the incredibly easy to use and powerful older iMovie. As long as you don't buy this for iMovie 08, then this is a great product. iMovie 08 may have a place in this world under a different name and as a differently focused product, but it is NOT a good movie editor.
Anyway, my biggest grip with iPhoto 08 is the same one I had for 06- that even you change the file name of a picture, as far as the computer is concerned, the change only occurs in albums. Then again, I once made the mistake of buying iWork (never again, what crappy software). The problem with that is that if you ever try to browse for a photo for whatever reason, i.e., email, send off for prints, you can't find your picture. I primarily use only the iPhoto, iMovie and the iDVD functions of iLife. I think it is just a way to charge more for what is basically entry level, bare bones editing software. Trying to locate specific photos in Mac is virtually impossible, as the computer does not view your pictures by albums, only film rolls, and only in whatever order they were originally uploaded, and even then only by some long file the Mac assigned. I have no idea what Garageband is and don't care. This is one area that Windows and it's 'My Pictures' is way, way better.
This Program is pretty good It loaded quickly and easily. I only needed it for iWeb and iPhoto, but iMovie Sucks you should wait until they fix that one.
More convenient to purchase here than at the local comp store.even if I didn't save any money.
Just burned a DVD with multiple slideshows and was able to select images straight from Aperture. To me the media browser is the best thing since sliced bread. While I use it primarily for iDVD and occasionally for iPhoto (I am an Aperture user), the media browser is AWESOME. Programs are uncomplicated and easy to use while the help file is good too.
