I've had mine for a year + now though and have not had any trouble. The major deciding factor for my purchase (besides price) was that it is powered by a AA battery. The only downside is the durability of the housing. These are easy to buy, carry and change out.
This will not stand up to much abuse. I did not want a player that had to be charged at a computer or special dock. I have two of these players and have purchased two as gifts.
What it does have is an easy to use interface and plenty of extra features like an equalizer, FM radio, and customizable settings. I was surprised at the sound quality for the price. It does not have a color screen or fancy do dads.
I have been very happy with this player.
we are very pleased and this is the second one of this kind in a different color. I would greatly advised for others to enjoy the fun of this mp3 player.
When it came on I was thrilled with its ease of use and quality it provided, but I only expect it to get worse. And there was about a week that I didn't even use the device bc I was waiting for my audiobook to come in the mail. From the moment I got it the m250 it had a hard time turning on. And as time went by, say 3 weeks it was extremely difficult to get the device to turn on. If I use it then turn it off, I have to wait several hours to get it back on : / Very frustrating, but you get what you pay for.
(I guess this is more of a personal preference). Third the sound quality is not super high-end but I am guessing in reality that most people won't know the different unless they have a higher end player. For the price and the fact that it's 2 GB make up for the small imperfections that it has.A few things I want to point out.First this unit takes AAA batteries so over time buying those AAA batteries will add up.Second SanDisk Sansa m250 2 GB MP3 Player is not designed with a flat thin body. You can check the other reviewers to note a few other imperfections that I didn't mention. If you can afford it I highly recommend getting the SanDisk Sansa Clip 2 GB MP3 Player.Sansa Clip 2 GB MP3 Player as of this writing is about $20 more than Sansa m250 2 GB MP3 Player but well worth it.To finish up let's get back to the Sansa m250 player and the price verses what you get makes it a really good value and that's why I give it a 5 stars.
The only drawback that I can see is that selecting a specific song for playback can be time consuming, but I usually just let them play randomly. Loading the music is very easy and the playback quality is superb. Sandisk players are the best. I currently own 3 different units ranging in capacity from 512mb to 2gb. Considering the low cost, the simplicity of use and the good sound quality, this unit is an exceptionally good choice.
