User Comments about the Remanufactured Teac CD-X6 Wall-Mountable Stereo with CD Player and AM/FM Tuner

I was a little hesitant to buy this as it was a repaired unite. 1. I use it every night. I do not have any problems with the CD door as I use the button to open and close it.

All I need now is a FM antena that will pull in more stations (maybe a power one). The sound is a little too bassy (as another review wrote).

I very much liked that it could be wall mounted. but everything works and looks fine.

I also like the sleep timer. I bought this stereo for two reasons.

I love the wall mount, It is totally out of the way. I have had Tech stereo equipment before with good results.

2. I live in a country town.

Great sound. A little heavy on the bass, but I like that. Sharp. Worth the money.

The treble could be a bit more pronounced, but if you are in front of the radio, as you would if it's on your desk, it's very detailed and crisp while not fatiguing. I wanted something for my wife's office that: 1) played CDs, 2) had a good digital tuner 3) had good sound and 4) was compact. It would be nice to have tone controls, but with some of the trends on table radios, like the Tivoli Model 1, the sound is "dialed-in" by the designer and they did do a good job in providing sound that most people will find pleasing. The remote is basic, but is very handy and does everything you need it to. If you prefer to buy new, you're still getting a good deal at $[.].The sound quality is excellent - you get smooth bass at even low volumes and it doesn't get over-boosted at high volumes.

The display is nice and bright (there is no brightness adjustment, though). this radio can not be beat.

[.].I mention Bose, because for this unit's size, the sound quality is in the same league - very detailed and even representation throughout the audio spectrum. There is no hiss, static or humming at all in CD radio or AUX modes.

Teac makes another model with a subwoofer, but this unit has plenty of bass. I bought a refurb unit from Amazon.com and it arrived very quickly and all functions are working perfectly.

The Bose is a bit more powerful and has better treble, but for $[.]. The CD-X6 meets all of these criteria and then some.

Plus, with the low cost of the refurb unit, it can be left at the office. The motorized door which contains the controls and allows access to the CD looks high-tech, but be sure not to close it by hand or it might break. This stylish radio is so good, I'm considering getting another one for myself.

The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the automatic mechanism for opening the cd door is problematic in that it has to be in CD mode to open the door.if you forget to put it in CD mode and a visitor comes to the house and tries to open the door manually it causes problems and could potentially break. The unit sounds good.other reviewers have complained about too much bass but it sounds good to me. I've put a sticker on the front that says "Don't touch the CD door.use the automatic opener."

It is heavier than I thought it would be. If you do it will break. It really does have great sound.

The only thing I worry about is that one of my kids will go in my room and pull on it. I would recommend this at a higher price. I wanted to put this review in because the only one it had was not all that great.

I don't know why so many people were trying to pull open the CD door. This really is a nice looking and nice sounding stereo. There is a sticker on top that says press here to open CD.

I think this is a steal at this price.
