I eject the disc and examine it for defects.therea are none. So I grab another dvd, same thing. But I had to come here to review it because it sucks so bad I don't want any unsuspecting consumers to be bilked out of their hard earned $60 or so they are willing to pay for a dvd player. I'd rather not bother. I insert a third dvd and get the same "no disc" message. My son will get something else for his birthday. I unplug the unit, read all the instructions, plug it all back in, insert a disc."no disc".
There is hemming, and hawing and very loudly at that. I try a music disc, "no disc"so I call the store I purchased it from and they tell me to bring it back and they'll give me another unit to try. No, I want a refund of my money. I bought this dvd player today, fortunatly for amazon I didn't buy it from them. Then it makes a funny whirring noise and a message of "no disc" displays. so, I buy this dvd player, take it home and hook it up to make sure it works before I gift wrap it for my son's birthday. I plug it all in, grab a new dvd to test it out and insert the disc.
RCA loses.
I dare you to find a HDMI to DVI and a HDMI to HDMI cable for under $50, much less the cables and a quality DVD player. Some might find the remote cumbersome with a lot of small buttons, but I like the added functionality that it provides. It's RCA, so it should be well made and should last a long time. I am very pleased with the overall value of this player. The picture is incredibly sharp with little flicker, and I didn't have to mess with buying any extra cables. So, if you're looking for a good, cheap DVD player that broadcasts in 1080i (and yes, I do totally know what that means, and I want it), then you should probably get this player.
need I say more--$60 at wally world. Cheap at twice the price.
Slim design is nice as well since it will fit in many small places. This player comes with two HDMI cables: HDMI to HDMI, and DB15(VGA) to HDMI. This upconverter works well in 720p/1080i, however it really depends on the recorded bitrate of the actual DVD you are viewing. The memory card viewer works well in displaying pictures, but its kinda slow for big pictures. Good product over all.
the DVD played for about 2 mo then it wouldn't recognize a DVD.No RCA products have ever worked at their best.
