48-50 records. The case holds approx. Cannot say if the price was fair as there was not much difference in price from different sellers. I bought this case for my husband to put his old records in and he was very happy with the product. In fact I will purchase another one as there are more records than space in this case. Compared prices on the web and I went with amazon.com because of the guarantee of the services, safety of purchase, etc. It is sturdy, nicely finished and it has class. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.
