Granted they don't do bass very good, but then again I didn't expect much bass from a 5 1/4" speaker. What a difference. If you want bass get woofers.
I'm hearing instruments and even vocals that I never heard before on songs I've been listening to for decades. The high sensitivity rating gives more volume with less distortion than the Kenwoods. WOW.
They replaced a set of Kenwoods. For little speakers these ROCK. I bought these for my Harley Davidson Electra Glide.
You'll be hard pressed to get better sound from 5 1/4".
They sound great now. However, I just got a sub and am now running a high-pass filter on these. I was pretty dissapointed with these when I first installed them. They cannot handle the lower frequencies therefore they fuzz all the time at medium to high volumes. Don't get these if you aren't running a high-pass filter on them.
Used factory grill covers to hide them. Previously on the highway I couldn't hear the stereo due to all the road noise.
Didn't want to advertise these because a jeep is easy to break into. Sounds great and 100% better then cheap factory speakers.
Installed these in my factory sound bar in 97 jeep TJ wrangler. Now I hear the music fine.
Wiring was easy. No convient way to secure cross over in sound bar so taped it inside it with out issue.
Will buy these again and install in the dash.
since they are exposed in the wrangler it draws more attention to the car with the silver grill. amp will come soon with a new rollbar set up. i knew this going in, but i was hoping to use the old covers to keep it on the dl. a lot of the jeep sites recommend these speakers and i know why. sound is perfect for the top off at 75mph. im running them off a sony head unit, but no amp. I love the sound of these speakers.
i give then only 4 stars because they have to much bling for my liking. they replaced some bostons i had in the sound bar of my 03 wrangler. i liked the old speakers but these are much better on the mid tones. i have a set of the kappa's up front now too in the dash.
