- 30 presets or you can direct tune.- You can pause and replay music, but only from the session you are in. Memory goes when you power down. The Bad:- New channels do not come up when you power down. It was professionally installed and it worked ok from day 1. Given that the lineup has changed substantially, this is a real pain in the butt. In other words, if you are listening to E Street Radio (58), turn your car off, then start it up again, it can't find channel 58. Nobody has a fix or an explanation.- Buttons are small and many do not illuminate at night.- There is lag at times when tuning.Bottom line, don't buy this unit if you are looking today. It hangs for a minute then goes to channel 1.
You can see what is playing and go right there. You can then go to channel 58 with no problem. THIS IS TRUE OF ANY NEW OR TEMP CHANNEL. I have had my unit since January 2007. Very cool. Its a radio and it plays. At the time this was purchased it was about top of the line, but I wouldn't recommend it today. The Good:- Browse feature is great.
There is better out there.
Although the item clearly had a "used" look, it works great and arrived quickly. I'm pleased.
Too early to review as I haven't used it yet because I also bought a Roady.
UGHH. I bought the boom box and receiver combination; the boom box came from Amazon; the receiver came from a 3rd party; I couldn't get them to work; I sent the boom box back to Amazon; they refunded my money; I sent the receiver back and NEVER heard from them. I'll never buy from a 3rd party again.
The display shows it's age with large pixel text, it's a bit bulky, it's thicker than it might appear in the photos, but if portability isn't a big issue for you, then this is a really cheap way to get XM for yourself. The sound is just fine, the features are actually very nice, the newer units don't have that much on the old SF2, especially if you set up in one place and leave it. Ok, the SkyFi2 is getting old, but it still works just fine. I purchased this for a friend, along with a home kit, and the signal repeater, all together, for less than most of the recivers alone.
