It is not just isopropyl alcohol and the formula lifts debris, however small, from the grooves in the record so your record brush can remove them from the surface of the record before playing. If you still listen to albums or are copying them to your computer, this stuff is a requirement for lifting dust, fingerprints or anything off the surface of the album before playing. I give it 4 stars; only because it should come in a larger size for archiving albums to your computer (a big job).
I'm digitizing my record collection. This product did an excellent job of cleaning up old groves.
