The antenna that came with the Roady XT set failed after about one year so I purchased this replacement. That was about one year ago and it's still working fine.
Although the antenna is made for roof mounting, it works fine just laying on the dashboard, and rarely loses the signal. It allows me to use the radio between my personal and work vehicles.
I have mounted this one above the rear hatch of my explore in hopes that it will receive less wear and tear. My original antenna's cable got warn down by the door opening and closing. So far it is working great
It came out with the large shark like antenna which advertise I have xm and therefore probably a sound system worth breaking into. Unfortunateley my vehicle was broken into twice. I have a stealth system where everything were hidden, so in hind sight, I think the large shark like xm antenna was the culpritThis antenna is so small and works as good as my original antenna if not better that it can be place almost anywhere. Great product. When XM first came out, I bought a pioneer radio with the 7" screen (2002-2003) and the accessories to add xm. I highly recommend this product and my only suggestion is that it comes in other colors so that it matches the exterior of the vehicle.
Works well. The attachment to the xm unit seems much more robust and less likely to strain the antenna wire (the original for mine split).
