And it's reliable - whether it was last used a week ago, or months ago, it just works when you turn it in. It's sturdy, standing up to car and air travel. The Epson PowerLite S3 has served us well for several years. It's reliable, spending hours on with no problems. A good machine.
My projector is about 15 feet away from the wall and projects a 108 inch screen. I consider the quality to be about halfway between watching a movie in a theater and watching one on a plasma tv. I bought my projector almost two years ago and use it for DVDs, cable and to play my Wii. I don't pretend the image is the same as a plasma, but the Epson's price is only a fraction of its clearer cousin. I'll add a positive note to Epson's customer service. With a $1,000 budget, I bought the projector, a stereo surround system, a can of low gloss white paint and some black trim and built a home theater that will rival one that would cost 25-30K (if you bought a comparable-sized plasma TV). I had a problem with my projector (while still under 2 year warranty), and after talking me through several unsuccessful troubleshooting efforts over the phone, they over-nighted me a brand new unit without hassle.
I don't own a screen, but the wall have worked great. Even if there is still light in the room the movie on the wall still looks good. I have used it to for powerpoint presentation, for movies using a dvd player or laptop and watching movies straight from the cable box. This is a great projector. I bought this projector on march of 2006 and it still works great. The wide and Tele features are great to ajust your picture.I love this projector.
any questions ask matttllz5772@aol. I've had it for over 4 moths now, and I love it. I would highly recomend this projector over the more expensive epson projectors. A+ product.
it does a great job with high quality. as it is, there's no need for me to spend $200+ on a screen.
I haven't had to buy a new bulb yet so i do not use it inscesently, but it does work for long periods with no problem. this product is hot.
and ask about my products as well- books, to paintball markers, to games and systems. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.
I have a baby blue colored room and I project directly to my wall, and the whites and WHITE and the blacks and BLACK. I play video games on the big screen (over 90 inches) in my room, watch movies in the dark with friends, watch regular tv, use it with my computer to go online, write reports and just to see things from a new perspective.
I Love it. the only thing is that it does get hot and i would not like to sit next to it (thats why its on the wall ;-)
The only things that are a minor inconvience are that if you are sitting next to it, you will fry. I can connect it to my computer, VCR, TV, Camera, Gaming system and more. This thing exhausts so much heat and your room will be heated up in the summer if you don't have A/C or a fan. I recently purchased this projector for my room and it is AWESOME. I was able to and 80" display in my room which is a HUGE change from my small TV. Images from a Computer tend to be pixelated. I have lived with a 20" tv for a while with surround sound and I needed a bigger display for a cheap price. Other than this, this is a great projector.
