The headset is light weight so that is no problem. The ability to move around, or out of the room, and still be connected with the programs is very handy. I have been very pleased with the Sennheiser RS 140. It amplifies very well and has allowed me to enjoy once again movies and other TV fare. Have already recommended the unit to a long-time friend who tried it and immediately also purchased a unit.
I've used Sennheiser products in the past and found them to be among the most comfortable of the reasonably priced phones. This is true even for iPod use (I don't care how they look on me).
This product is no exception. The only headphones I will consider purchasing are those that fit around the ear.
I received this item as a gift last year and I'm happy with it. I did not give this product a fifth star because there are more comfortable around the earphones at or near the same price.
I'm a little hard of hearing and frequently use closed captioned on the screen to follow the dialog. While some may consider frequency response or true sound reproduction their top priority in a wireless headphone, I have only one priority -- comfort -- since I must use headphones for hours at a time.
However, I do recommend getting these because of the feel and because of the quality of construction.
And you could hear a person prompting the news lady and hear her walk away in hi heals. I had researched others and this one always seemed to come out on top. The first night I used them I was watching the news. Volume is a roll type button so does not take much to move it. You can hear things that you didn't know was there. It is assame that they did not put them one the front, and you cannot turn them around do to the fact they are molded in one direction to wear. However I must say it has been a dream come true with a house full of animals and kids. Now that is great sound quality.I did give it only four stars for the reason that the buttons to turn it on and volume and balance are located on the back of the head sets.
So if you are laying back in bed or just resting you head back on the couch you tend to hit the buttons and move them. I recieved these wireless headphones for Christmas, and they are a great set. The sound quality is amazing. I took a chance and told Santa that this was what I wanted. And believe it or not they were there under the tree Christmas morning.Anyways, this is a great and comfortable headset. Just turn the volume up and drift away.
Ace Photo Digital has offered absolutely no technical support; we have called several times only to be placed in the automated "hold" pattern, waiting for the next available representative and even after waiting once for over 40 minutes, we have yet to speak with anyone. For what we paid, this certainly is not the service one would expect. I suggest you not order from Ace Photo Digital or any other vendor until AFTER you contact the vendor directly to see what recourse you may have regarding technical support if any is needed. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband -- Amazon's vendor was Ace Photo Digital. While delivery was prompt, the product itself seems to have a problem with the headphone battery connection, which of course was not discovered until over a week after Christmas when my husband finally set up the system. This has been a totally frustrating and demoralizing experience and definitely a waste of precious money.
BTW, earbuds were out of the question because my husband finds them uncomfortable and I have 2 cochlear implants. For the first time ever, we can watch TB together, can individually adjust our own volume controls, and if we had company, they can watch the TB with us because you have the option to leave the external sound on or mute it. My husband is also hearing and visually impaired and connects up to the TV with wired headsets, which works ok for him except it's like being connected by a long umbilical cord, and it mutes the TV external sound so nobody else can watch the TV with him. These look like over-the-ear hearing aids , so I needed ear muffs large enough to encompass them. The headphone sound clarity is excellent, we haven't had any problem with static, and it was a snap to install.
My husband, who watches a lot more TV than I do, alternates wearing the 2 headphones so that one is always being charged up on the stand, so there hasn't been an issue with one of the headphones losing its charge when we both watch TB together. So I started researching wireless headsets, found the reviews on the Sennheiser RS 140 Wireless Balanced Headphones, and ordered them and an extra pair of the add-on headphones. I've been wanting to watch TV for years but couldn't because I'm hearing impaired and blind (so I can't read close captioned TV either). We've had them for 3 months and they are amazing. The Sennheiser headphones are not only comfortable, but the ear muffs are large enough to fit perfectly over my cochlear implants too.
Because of our hearing impairments, simply turning the TV volume up doesn't work because it distorts the sound too much. If I could give these a rating of 10, I would.
