Does not need to be hardwired into the car (although it can be) and very user-friendly. Have seen other receivers and I think the Audiovox reciever and docking bay is the best. Easy to install and set up. Very useful if you alternate between two cars and don't want to buy two receivers. I would recommend this brand receiver and docking bay.
