Editorial Reviews:

Bet you didn't know that Powel Crosley was the first to build a production model sports car in the US. Yes, he's not only the genius who brought us mass produced radios, appliances, and of course WLW - The Nation's Station, but he also became famous for his Crosley automobiles. The Autorama CD represents a vintage icon mimicking the clean, streamlined stylings of a classic 1950's automobile. From the sleek illuminated center dial, to the chrome grill side mounted speakers, this beauty takes you back to the days of drive ins and diners, but adds a hint of technological advance with a CD player. Crosley's fascination with automobiles is evident right down to the last exacting detail. The Autorama features an AM/FM Radio, a 3-speed turntable, a compact disc player and enough sophistication to render most enthusiasts speechless.

User Comments about the Crosley CR712 Autorama Turntable with CD Player and AM/FM Radio, Red

I was forced to use external speakers with the unit just to get an acceptable amount of sound. That is until the CD player completely died a year to the day that I bought it. I agree with the other reviewers who said the sound quality was extremely poor, not better than a clock radio. I returned the unit and would not purchase another Crosley product

She tells me that the carpet probably caused a charge that killed the unit but she wasn't sure. The sound quality was really bad and I initially planned to buy external speakers until it stopped working. I sent the Crosley back to Amazon with my CD still held hostage.

Yep, I bought this unit as a Christmas gift and in 3 days, the recipient told me she walked over to the unit to hit stop on the playing CD and everything went black. I was very pleased with Amazon though, they gave me a FULL refund, shipping and return charges included. First, let me say that I was very pleased with the look of this unit.

The radio stations don't program well (oodles of static). It "looks" like REAL quality when you remove it from the box. That's about where the pleasure ends though.

I would buy OTHER brands from Amazon again.

Keep the remote handy because the front panel controls are almost totally useless. I wouldn't play any valuable pristine records on it. All your radio station presets disappear every time you lose power (be it storm or simply unplugging the unit). The CD player is of acceptable quality. It just seems like a lot of things you'd take for granted in a $60 boom box are missing in this unit. The turntable is actually one of the better features of the unit, but is is far from audio quality. This unit has incredibly low fidelity speakers.

The power amp only delivers a couple watts per channel. Not much better sounding than a $30 clock radio. The electronics are pretty cheezy. It is very cute looking.

It has the perfect volume for the kitchen area and it is so attractive on the counter that everyone notices it when they walk in. We love the radio in the morning for the traffic and weather updates and enjoy the CD Player and Turntable when we are preparing those wonderful dishes for the family. Our Crosley CR712 Autorama Turntable with the CD Player and AM/FM Radio in Red completes our black and white kitchen with red accents. We have a red Crosely 1957 telephone as well. Thank you.
