Then nothing. The repairs to the system will cost more than I paid for it. I bought this for my mom and it worked well till just after the 1 year warranty was up. What a disappointment.
This fit the bill. I was surprised after setting it up for her (VERY EASY) how well it sounded. My elderly aunt needed a turntable with a CD and Tape player. I expected less and got a lot more bang for the buck.
The other reason I got this unit, ironically enough, is the record player(turntable). And that's not the only problem. Again, very noisy but that's expected of records, but the stylus is pure garbage. I got this unit for Christmas hoping I would get a nice 3 CD changer with a record player built in.what I got was the noisiest piece of junk ever built. It hisses so bad I can't even hear music. It's inncaurate, flimsy and probably made of cheap plastic that will destroy your records. The CD, yes THE CD PLAYER, is the noisiest function on this entire unit. If you need a 3 CD changer with a record player STAY AWAY FROM THIS THING.
Also the arm for the turntable doesn't have an auto shut off. That would have been something I definitely would have put on this equipment. They have a lot of old LPs as well as cassettes and CDs. Took forever to get fixed because there was so much wrong with it. I would have no problems recommending it to others. I don't know if I can recommend a product that can't even make it through the first year of use. We have seperate stereo components with JBL Monitor Speakers so our sound system led us to believe the TEAC stereo would never give quality sound but we were wrong.
Bad side is the wording on the buttons. If you have old LPs that you still enjoy listening to, I highly recommend this unit. My father-in-law loves it and he's a very difficult man to please. Here it is, August 2007 and there's a problem with the on/off button. I purchased this unit for my in-laws. Very difficult to see unless you have the system at eye view. I was amazed at how well everything sounded for an all-in-one stereo system. All components work great and instructions aren't necessary to figure out any of the functions.
The decision is yours.
This fit the bill. The small speakers have a fairly good sound and it is set up well enough for use without reading the instructions. I just wanted a small system with a turntable so I could play my old records. The clock seems to lose time though.
