Its perfect for the bedroom or study setup. I read good reviews for this one and this one performs well upto its reputation. All range of sounds are reproduced accurately and clearly.
Finding a boombox with input jacks isn't easy. Then I spotted this, and its perfect. I was shopping for a boombox because I wanted a small music player for my kitchen, with input jacks so I could plug in either my non-IPod mp3 player or my Roady XT satellite player. Looks a lot nicer than boomboxes, sounds great, and the DVD, CD, and Casette are all pluses.
It gets extrememly annoying if you care to listen to the music in any way.I took it in to be repaired, because I had loved this unit's performance up until this problem. The repair shop replaced the laser a couple of times, and they also cleaned it out thoroughly. When that didn't work, upon Panasonic's recommendation, they replaced the entire CD playing unit. Still not fixed. I bought this unit a little over a year ago, and 1 month out of warranty, I started to have a problem with the CD playback skipping, just little bits at a time. It sounds a bit like a squeak and a dropped word or phrase during playback, and it happens pretty frequently (at least a couple of times a minute). Upon hearing this, the repair shop told me that Panasonic had admitted having lots of problems with this unit and similar ones, which were somtimes repairable and sometimes not.It seems a case where the manufacturer knows that the unit is problematic but doesn't want to stand too tall behind the workmanship.Caveat emptor, indeed.
Yes, it had great sound when it worked for such a little player, but what's the point when it so rarely plays. When I can get it to play, it skips alot. And this was not due to rough handling or anything - it was just sitting on the shelf it had been on all along, playing music at a holiday party I was having only several months after I purchased it and the sound just stopped. I tried several times to get it going again and it would always stop playing (even though the CD was still running) after a couple of minutes. I would recommend making another selection.
It play my MP3 CDs - sometimes for 15 hours a day. I bought this for my bedroom - specifically to have soothing music to get the baby to sleep. My wife wonders how I get the baby to sleep within minutes, while she always has a struggle - she won't admit it is the combination of my comfy shoulder and some nice instrumental Rabindrasangeet(Bengali folks music). The timer is very nice - and the remote control is very easy to use, even in the dark (maybe my fingers have memorised the buttons)It would be nice if I could turn off the display; and sometimes, to set the display to show the song name - it switches to time left or time played for track after a few seconds.
