So when I saw them for $10 here, I put them in my cart and was shocked to see that they wanted $9.06 for shipping. I've used Verbs for years, and their DVD-RWs are the best yet. What a ripoff.
So far I've used them for data back-ups and recording videos. I've rewritten over more than one of the disks and have experienced no failure. This brand was top rated by my DVD manufacturer. I would definitely buy this brand again when I need more DVD+RWs.
I had heard so many do not play with certain players. Now I only buy Verbatim and TDK. I was so worried about which disk to get. They always burn they always play.
The reason I refrained from writing a review for this product sooner is due to my very bad experience with Memorex 16X-24X CD-RW in which all recorded data( 15 discs in all, ie 15 out of 15 ) would become unrecognizable within a few weeks. I highly recommend this disc for data storage because of its reliability. The Verbatim DVD+RW is a reliable surface. The price of this disc is slightly on the high side though. So far I have not had a coaster, or encountered writing error during burning, or unexpected loss of recorded data. Some discs I have rewritten 10 times over while others I have appended new data to without erasing existing data on the disc, and the most important fact is the data stays and has not become corrupted. This review applies only to data storage and not video.
I have been using this writing surface for data storage for the past three months. In fact, DVD+RW is more suitable for data storage. For video application, DVD-RW is more suitable. On a price per disc basis, the 30-disc spindle is more economical compared to the 10-disc pack and may be a better choice if one ever needs that many 4.7GB discs.
They are worth the little bit of extra cost. I have at least 20 re-writes on each of these discs so far and no problems. One tip though, when erasing a DVD+RW or DVD-RW, do not use the quick erase, always use the full erase, this will insure a longer life for your discs.
