The only shortcoming to this unit is plug spacing which hampers connecting wall-mount-type power supplies. The unit is one of those great "put it in & forget about it" parts that are vital to the overall success of a modest home theater installation.
I bought the powercenter to protect my equipment and piece of mind. Works as advertised but I did not see a change. Great quality product compared to others.
i have know idea if this product helped or not. the spike fried an xbox that was not hooked up to a surge protector. first spike my house ever had fried this product. but it should have some sort of a reset if ther is a spike.
It actually cleared a few channels up, so I was impressed. I had the antenna directly into the tv, but tried to go through the surge protector. Overall, good product and recommended. I have this connected to my 40" Samsung LCD and the picture is amazing. Quite a few outlets for power and antenna. PS. Before using this product turning on lights would make the picture flicker, but now it is GONE. The surge protector is large (normal surge protector on steroids), so look at the dimensions.
I found this unsatisfactory because this is the newest version of this unit, the HTS1000 Mk II. When disconnected and plugged in the old way, the Dish signal comes through. I have read that older units will not work with Direct or Dish service; this was the newest unit and was supposed to have the bugs out of it. The product was certainly well made and heavy. When hooked up to the Dish per the instructions, the television signal will not come through the unit. I spoke with two audio/video professionals about this problem and they agreed; the units do not permit the Dish Hi Def signal to pass through the unit. However, it does not work with my Dish High Def Satellite service. Case closed.
