When sound volume is INCREASED, the display of decibels goesDOWN (and dB display goes up on decrease of volume)UNBELIEVABLY the tech support at Panasonic believes this is correct. Really doesn't affect the unit, though. 1. I'm basically pleased with it, other than that ANNOYING feature.
The detachable speaker grills are good if you like to watch your speakers vibrate when you have your music loud. It has great sound, a 5 disc cd changer, dual casette decks, and detachable speaker grills. It is an Equalizer mode that makes the sound really Clear, and it makes the bass heavy but, it sounds great. It has a Two Way speaker System so you get great sound, and this system has A/V jacks in the back of it so you can hook up a dvd player or a PS2 to it and you can play it through the stereo.
Also Panasonic is A very Reliable brand. Also if it is too bright you can dim the display.
THe display is also very nice. This system also has a preset equalizer so you can choose from Heavy, Disco, Soft, Hall, and Clear.
If you want to make the sound really good you can put on the Super Sound Equalizer. This is a very good Stereo.
It is bright, easy to read and cool looking. This system has 100 watts of power, the sound system is great, even athigher volumes, it doesn't distort at all.
The remote is also very nice, it is a full function remote control so you can control the Cd player, and the radio from the remote. I reccomend this stereo (SC-AK12) to anyone who wants a reliable good sounding stereo for a great value

Panasonic technical support (it took 4 weeks to reach) maintains that this quite in order, in "true mathematics"One worries what else did the designers get wrong (possibly the counter on the tape player )., and what would happen if one reallyneeded tech support.
